This is a great opportunity for an academic with expertise in Informatics or related fields to join the Centre for Social Informatics research group where you can add to the work of the experienced team exploring eGovernment, Information Science, Information Society and Social Informatics. With 30% allocation for research, this role will allow you to explore novel and emerging areas of informatics such as machine learning, mobile and serverless computing, blockchain, encryption and SSI, and the impact of regulatory developments including the GDPR and open banking.
The Lecturer in Informatics will contribute to and build programmes and modules to support the expansion of the School’s teaching portfolio, meeting the demand for skilled graduates and postgraduates. You will also actively contribute to our existing portfolio of information systems degrees.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate enthusiasm for working in a cross-disciplinary manner in applied research and in the development of teaching to enhance employability of our graduates. You will have the opportunity to expand your industry connections through our existing networks and by visiting students on one-year industry placements and on our employer-based Graduate Apprentice programme.
