The School of Arts and Creative Industries at Edinburgh Napier University is seeking a new full time technician to join the team. We are looking for someone who combines a journalism industry background with experience in radio, film and sound equipment. In the most recent University Guardian League table, our Journalism, Publishing and Public Relations area was ranked in the top 10 across all UK Universities, and we are the top UK university for Film Production and Photography.

The role
We are looking to appoint a candidate who has experience in journalism or film with an emphasis on audio, radio and online digital content, along with an interest in the practicalities and technical aspects of film equipment to support our film stores.
A background in broadcast journalism would be beneficial and we would expect candidates to have experience at supporting the creation of multimedia and digital content for online platforms. Practical experience working with film and sound recording equipment are essential for this post.
If successful, you will join a highly dedicated team who provide outstanding technical support to our student-centred teaching and learning, which reflects our focus on professional communication, our research expertise and our international outlook.
Your time will be split between film and journalism. You will support film stores by aiding with the issue, collation, organisation, maintenance and repair of film and sound equipment to students.
You will be responsible for providing support for audio, radio and online digital content along with print and other digital platforms to support journalism
