Does the prospect of joining a School of Health and Social Care with a strong commitment to advancing practice through inter-disciplinary research and scholarly activity appeal to you? Are you ready to deliver high quality, student centred teaching underpinned by academic scholarship, to our Child Health Nursing students within our Bachelor and Masters in Nursing programmes? Do you have ambition to advance child health nursing here and internationally?
If so, the positions of University Tutor, Lecturer and Associate Professor at Edinburgh Napier University could be the perfect opportunity for you.
About the School
Edinburgh Napier is one of the largest providers of nursing and midwifery education in Scotland. Uniquely, in Scotland, the School offers degrees in midwifery, all four fields of nursing practice (Adult, Child Health, Mental Health and Learning Disabilities) Allied Health Professional and Social Work Practice. We are committed to growing our academic reputation, strengthening our research profile and improving our student experience. The school is structured into research groups that reflect our areas of strength and growth: Innovating in Health Social Care Practice, Population and Public Health, Cardio-vascular Health, Mental Health and Women, Children and Families.
The roles
To help us do that, we are seeking experienced individuals to join the Women, Children and Families research groups. The roles on offer will deliver high quality, student centred teaching underpinned by academic research and scholarship to over 300 Child Health Nursing students within our pre- and post-registration programmes. Successful applicants will also contribute to Research activity through their academic and professional leadership.
We are looking to hear from interested individuals who are currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council in child health nursing or related fields. What's important is a commitment to developing the next generation of child health nurses by enthusiastically applying your knowledge in a way that is engaging, relevant to practice and meets the needs of children, young people and their families. Perhaps by collaborating with practitioners to develop and evaluate new models of care or by conducting research in areas such as infant feeding, young people's mental health or supporting families caring for children with long-term conditions.
Above all, these positions offer the opportunity to raise your profile and develop the field of child health nursing through your work. Successful applicants will be supported with their personal development. For example to undertake PG Certificates in Higher Education, Masters and/or Doctoral studies in their various formats.
