We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Urban Innovation, who will be positioned on our Research Pathway. You will join Edinburgh Napier Business School and contribute to raising our national and international profile. You will support the delivery and ongoing development of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and conduct original research which links science, technology, and innovation studies to urban science. We welcome applications from candidates working in any areas of urban innovation, but we are particularly interested in candidates with expert knowledge in system innovation for sustainable urban development, digital entrepreneurship for smart cities, sociotechnical transitions to urban sustainability, and/or the governance and strategic management of smart city transitions.

The role
You will join the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Subject Group. This ambitious and fast-growing team consists of academics on Enterprise, Learning and Teaching, and Research pathways, who are making significant contributions across all strands of endeavour.
You will be responsible for developing, designing and delivering teaching and student centred learning underpinned by academic scholarship and professional practice, within your assigned areas of responsibility. An appetite for designing engaging materials for virtual learning environments is essential.
You will contribute to the University’s objective of growing our academic reputation for research-informed teaching based on industry awareness. You will also collaborate in expanding our portfolio of research and commercial projects and in developing new working relationships with businesses and other external organisations interested in applied research.
You are expected to have a sufficiently developed research and scholarly profile or a clear development trajectory, as well as a strong commitment to excellent teaching delivery.
