We are currently looking to recruit a full time Administrator to join the Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Service.
The Student Wellbeing and Inclusion team provides high quality, professional services to support potential and current students from their initial enquiry to Edinburgh Napier University through to graduation. As a University committed to inclusion, we aim to provide a positive and supportive environment for all students and staff on the basis of individual merits, ability and potential. A wide range of support for students is embedded across the University, provided through a variety of services. This is a time of growth for the department with a number of roles starting in the early Autumn.
The University is currently still responding to the impacts of the pandemic and as such many professional services have been remote working for a number of months. It is expected you will provide a blend of online and face to face support for our students until such time as our new model of working is assessed in 2022.
The role
Reporting to the Wellbeing and Inclusion Office Manager, you will have a service-wide remit and will join a team of administrators developing an integrated approach in support of all areas of our work. You will be expected to be flexible in your approach to ensure that the most urgent tasks are prioritised across the service. You will provide an exceptional frontline service to students, staff and other visitors and provide a full range of clerical, secretarial and administrative services to all areas of the Wellbeing and Inclusion service.
You will act as the first point of contact for the team and provide a responsive service through a range of contact options including in person meetings, email, telephone, letter, video calls etc. You will communicate sensitively, confidentially and promptly with students or respond to enquiries which may be of a personal and confidential nature. You will provide advice, guidance and information to students and other stakeholders in response to a wide range of enquiries. You will use judgement and sensitivity to assess, research, investigate and resolve support issues and queries, in collaboration with other team members when necessary.
Who we are looking forOur ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in an administration role in a busy, professional, customer focused environment. Experience of managing financial systems and records is important as is the ability to demonstrate working with internal and external stakeholders, some who at times may be anxious or upset.
