Edinburgh Napier University
Business School's aim is to grow the Accounting provision in the next academic year.
As a result, we have an opening for a lecturer in Accounting and would particularly welcome applicants who have specialised in the areas of Management Accounting and Finance. We will be appointing to one of the following academic pathways:
Research
,
Professional Practice
or
Learning & Teaching

You will join the Accountancy, Finance & Law Subject Group in the School. The group offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Our BA (Hons) Accounting programme is accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) as well as attracting exemptions from the other major professional accountancy bodies including ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA and HKICPA (in Hong Kong) and our LLB is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland. The National Student Survey for 2019 rated the Finance subject area at 94% for overall student satisfaction.

The role
You will be responsible for developing, designing and delivering teaching and student centred learning underpinned by academic scholarship and professional practice, within your assigned areas of responsibility.
You will be required to conduct individual and collaborative research projects within the Business School or elsewhere within the University, contributing to the research profile within your School and leading to the production of high quality research outputs/outcomes.
You will also contribute to the University's objective of growing our academic reputation for research-informed student learning. Some travel will be required as a number of our programmes/modules are delivered internationally.
There are opportunities to teach in Hong Kong and Singapore so this role will be ideal for someone who likes international travel, cultures, and this role presents opportunities to develop own research area
Who we are looking for
A CIMA qualified accountant or, at the very least, an ACCA qualified accountant
Ideally, a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline
Demonstrable evidence of a teaching/training specialisation in management accounting - preferably finance also - with teaching experience at all levels of the SCQF framework.
Evidence of a strong professional accounting practice profile OR academic teaching and research profile
