Project Manager - Strategic Programmes
Fixed Term Contract to 31st August 2019
We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join the team at Construction Scotland Innovation Centre (CSIC) on a fixed term contract to 31st August 2019. This post is offered either on a full time basis or a part-time job share.
Administered by Edinburgh Napier University,
CSIC supports construction related business to collaborate, innovate and grow by matching innovations requirements with business support and academic specialists.
Based at our Innovation Factory facility near Hamilton, the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre has an exciting future ahead expanding its range of services and activities throughout Scotland.
Focusing on business, product, process and service forms of innovations, we offer advice, funding, facilitation and access to appropriate expertise to grow economic impact within the construction industry and improve Scotland's global competitiveness. We work in partnership with a range of public sector, academic and further educations organisations.

The role is based in Hamilton and will require you to travel frequently to other locations throughout
Scotland and occasionally within the UK/EU/Internationally.
The Role
You will take on the development and delivery of a number of complex, strategic projects that provide direct benefit to Scotland's construction industry.
One project will involve you working with The UK Government's Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) which brings together world-leading UK research with business to meet major industrial and societal challenges. You will proactively identify and approach businesses suitable to participate in consortium bids that respond to the forthcoming calls to be realised by Innovative UK. You will inform, encourage and influence businesses to collaborate and respond to the calls.
Once you have established groups, you will support the groups to continually develop and submit credible, competitive proposals. Should any of these bids be successful, you will continue to engage with the consortiums, ensuring you are continuously developing and maintaining these relationships.
You will also be responsible for two other strategic projects which involve government and public sector stakeholders and key businesses.
Who We Are Looking For
Essential requirements:
Experience of complex project development and management involving multiple funders and stakeholders
Proven track record of effective stakeholder engagement & management at senior level
Experience of working with and applying for EU/UK Government funding mechanisms involving business led R&D collaborating with academic/public sector
Strong networking and influencing skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and encourage businesses to take action
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable requirements:
An understanding of how Scotland's/the UK's construction sector operates from both a strategic and operational perspective
Connections throughout a number of sub-sectors within Scotland's construction industry; Scotland's public sector and within the industry representation community
