At the heart of Scotland's inspiring capital, the Business School at Edinburgh Napier University is seeking to appoint two full-time Lecturers in Financial Services. The School's vision is to be a leading (top 5% in the world) Accredited Business School
renowned for its excellent teaching, research, global reach and impact.
Financial Services is based in the Business School at Craiglockhart, which boasts some of the most modern teaching and learning facilities in Scotland, and offers certificate, undergraduate and postgraduate courses and has a healthy postgraduate research base. In addition, the University has successfully renewed approval by the Ministry of Education in 2016 for 5 years to operate the BA (Hons) Financial Services programme in China.

The National Student Survey for 2016 rated our School at 93% for overall satisfaction with their course, with teaching, feedback and academic support all scoring above 90%.
The Role
We seek to appoint two lecturers in the area of banking/credit risk or pensions/asset management/investment with strong quantitative skills, although consideration will be given to outstanding candidates in other fields of financial services. You will be responsible for developing, designing and delivering teaching and student centred learning underpinned by academic scholarship and professional practice, within your assigned areas of responsibility.
You will be required to conduct individual and collaborative research projects, contributing to the research profile within your School, leading to the production of high quality research outputs/outcomes.
You will also contribute to the University's objective of growing our academic reputation for research-informed student learning. Some travel will be required as a number of our programmes/modules are delivered internationally. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team.
You will have excellent communication skills and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, listen, engage and inspire others.
There are opportunities to teach in China and Honk Kong so this role will be ideal for someone who likes international travel, cultures, and this role presents opportunities to develop own research area.
Who We Are Looking For
You must have:
*Qualification in relevant discipline at least to postgraduate level
*A doctoral level qualification in the relevant discipline OR a professional finance qualification (e.g. CIOBS, CII, CFA).
*Demonstrable evidence of a teaching/training specialisation
*Evidence of a strong professional profile OR academic teaching and research profile.
*Be willing to travel to teach overseas, primarily in Hong Kong and China.
Desirable attributes would be:
*A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline
*Teaching qualification such as membership of the HEA
*Professional / Industry experience
*Evidence of research publications

Salary: Grade 6 - GBP 38,183-GBP 46,924 per annum
