We have a number of new part time opportunities available in our School of Arts & Creative Industries (SACI) covering creative advertising, interior and spatial design and product design.

The opportunities listed below are based at our Merchiston Campus, in the School of Arts & Creative Industries (SACI), located in the beautiful and historic heart of Morningside, Edinburgh. The School hosts a range of undergraduate and post-graduate programmes, and plays an active part in the creative industries in Scotland and beyond. You will join a growing and vibrant research centre which is seeking to build on this year’s REF submission to grow income and PhD student numbers.
0.5fte Creative Advertising Lecturer
As a Lecturer in our MSc Creative Advertising programme, you will be expected to deliver high-quality teaching and learning and contribute to the programs and school’s growing reputation. A PHD qualification is required and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a successful career in the Creative Advertising industry at a senior level. This is a creative advertising course and requires a real understanding of concept creation and be able to relay multidisciplinary skills in both copywriting and art direction and how those skills map across multi advertising platforms. We expect that your experience in business will bring with it a network of Creative Advertising practitioners who would be able willing to contribute to the course in student mentorship and delivering guest lectures.
0.5fte Interior and Spatial Design Lecturer
The Interior and Spatial Design programme are looking for a collaborative, articulate and highly organised individual to join our thriving studio team. The successful candidate will be educated in a design-related discipline, with PHD qualification, and will demonstrate experience of design practice and design education, and relevant and associated research. Experience with Adobe InDesign, AutoCAD, and Sketchup is desirable, and evidence of working with international students, collaborators and partner institutions is an advantage.
0.5fte Product Design Lecturer
Our Product Design programme is looking for creative all-rounder to join it's teaching team.
We regard product design in very broad terms. The ideal candidate would demonstrate a skill set that shows traditional craft based making processes plus knowledge of existing and emerging service design tools and methods. Considerable industry experience is desirable with a track history of taking products from inception to market. International experience is also desirable. Candidates should have a doctorate qualification.
You will have the opportunity to develop your research interests and deliver student centred learning across the 4 years of the programme.
