Job description
We are looking to appoint an Associate Professor in HRM to contribute to the leadership of learning, teaching and research activities, become a key member of the Management leadership team and engage with stakeholder groups both external and internal to the University.
The successful candidate will work with the Head of Management Group and others to shape
the future of the HRM subject area within the Business School. In particular, we would welcome candidates who can demonstrate experience of developing innovative HRM programmes and have developed close links with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and development (CIPD).

The subject area of HRM is consistently rated very highly in the annual National Student Survey (in 2019 the HRM subject area was ranked 1st in UK). The team is well-known for its approach to practice based learning and research around the theme of 'maximising human potential', which focuses on well-being, diversity, talent and leadership development and performance improvement.
The subject area delivers six different HRM programmes at Degree and Masters Levels and runs programmes on-campus, overseas and online. We also run bespoke part-time programmes with commercial partners.

The role
As an Associate Professor you will contribute to the ongoing and future strategic development of our HRM portfolio of programmes and modules. You will have a strong national profile in teaching and significant experience of innovative and successful programme leadership and development. You will be expected to engage in programme leadership and develop an active and ongoing involvement with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) at student, programme, branch and national levels.
The post will also include teaching on a range of programmes and modules, including our MSc HRM, MBA, and commercial and online/trans-national provision, as well as supervision of students' at all academic levels. In addition to leading and contributing to learning and teaching, as an Associate Professor you will be expected to have a strong publication record in the HRM discipline/ pedagogy stream, and have plans for further scholarly outputs.

Evidence of an excellent professional academic and research profile, alongside a commitment to sustained continuous professional/academic development
Evidence of innovative teaching and learning practice and experience
Significant experience in developing high quality teaching/ learning and research projects
Some travel may be required as part of our trans-national education provision.
