At Edinburgh Napier University we are dedicated to creating and providing ways for our students to connect with employers. We do this by working in partnership with employers across a
broad range of industries and sectors to provide our students with the opportunity to learn more about and gain exposure to them.
Our Employer Opportunities Team are seeking a Project Officer to develop and co-ordinate the Connect Networks for women studying Engineering, Built Environment and Computing at the University on a part time (15.5 hours per week), 12 Month Fixed Term Contract basis. Key tasks will include supporting students and Student Connect Groups to facilitate employability events for female students, in particular ensuring links are made with female professionals and employers. You will liaise with Equate Scotland around joint events and will aim to utilise web and online communications to support the overall aims of Connect.
What Are We Looking For?
A degree or equivalent relevant experience is essential for this role, as is experience of organising student or group activity. You will have experience of project management, event organisation and social media for marketing. Key to this position is knowledge and awareness of the organisational and cultural barriers to women's access to and progression in careers in SET.
Candidates will require effective interpersonal, communication and team working skills along with excellent organisational and IT skills. You may be required to travel and to work occasional evenings and Saturdays to coordinate student events.
