The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Computing here at Edinburgh Napier University. We are looking for a Lecturer in Data Engineering. The responsibility of the Lecturer in Data Engineering will be to bring the rigor of Software Engineering to the processes of the Data Scientist.
Applicants will be expected to teach and research in the areas of Date Engineering. Specifically, we are looking for people who have good working knowledge of industry standard tools in data pipeline building, such as Scala, Hadoop, Python, Amazon Web Services, and database systems.
The School is currently developing a new MSc in Data Engineering and a Graduate Apprenticeship in Data Science. As a Lecturer you will need to work with local industry in the development, delivery and monitoring of teaching within Data Engineering, and would ideally come with existing strong industry contacts to support such developments.
