The role
As Data Governance Manager, you will improve the quality of the University’s corporate data. Accountable and responsible for the delivery of statutory returns, including the HESA Student returns and others such as UniStats; ensuring the data contained within the statutory return is accurate and of the highest quality.
You will lead, develop and embed a Data Governance framework that ensures there are clear roles and responsibilities, data management, improvement and an embedded culture of good data quality.
This role has responsibility for identifying, scoping and delivering solutions that improve business processes and systems that ensure the quality and timelines of delivery of statutory returns. This will include working collaboratively with colleagues across the University to ensure they deliver the key components required to underpin these solutions.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for you to have experience of working in a strategic planning office, providing management information and intelligence to senior management to inform and influence decision-making. You will have a working knowledge of the Higher Education Sector and have demonstrable experience in managing a small team.
You will be able to initiate and maintain a network of relationships and work proactively with multiple stakeholders within our schools and professional service departments.
We will look for you to evidence your experience in delivering HESA Student Returns and a working knowledge of a Student Information System. You must be able to demonstrate good knowledge of Data Governance and data management approaches.
Ideally you will have Project Management experience, ensuring you are able to manage and co-ordinate a number of different projects at once.

Salary: £40,322 - £49,533 per annum (Grade 6)
