We are seeking to appoint an International Officer based in Edinburgh, who will support with the recruitment of our international students from China. You will join the International Operations & Student Recruitment department, which consists of a team of over 70 professional service staff that support the University’s student’s recruitment and partnership activities and the implementation of the University’s Internationalisation Strategy.

The role
You will work closely with an International Partnership Manager as part of a regional team, you will work with applicants to guide them through the admissions process and develop and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders important to the recruitment process.
You will also be responsible for providing support across the regional team, such as enquiry management, admissions, partnership agreements, scholarships, and delegation visits; in addition to supporting the maintenance of the Chinese website and Chinese social media platforms. Who we are looking for
Educated to degree level you will be highly motivated and proactive with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have excellent organisational skills as well as the ability to prioritise competing demands and to work to targets. Experience in student recruitment, HE marketing, communications or similar areas essential. You will be required to travel occasionally (roughly two weeks on average a year) and work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends (such as Open Days and other student recruitment events).
It is essential to speak fluent Mandarin, and experience in translation between Mandarin and English (written and speaking).
