The role
Reporting to the Director of People and Services, the Head of HR Operations will be responsible for the delivery of effective generalist HR services across the University, including reward and payroll, HR Partnering and recruitment. You will lead, motivate and inspire a team of HR professionals, circa 29, driving the strategic direction of the team whilst ensuring the provision of a tailored and effective HR service. You will also lead all employee relations processes and the strategic direction of the trade union relationship taking an active role in consultation and negotiation.
The Head of HR Operations will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the people strategy supports the University’s strategic goals. You will provide advice, support and effective influence to ensure Edinburgh Napier is a great place to work and provides opportunities to allow staff to progress their career. Who we are looking for
You will have a strong generalist HR background within academia or industry at a senior level. Educated to degree level with CIPD qualifications, you will be confident in all aspects of HR with a solid foundation in providing complex HR advice to senior stakeholders. You will be commercially minded with the ability to ensure that decisions are based on values and robust analysis. Proven people management and leadership skill are essential coupled with the ability to navigate and build rapport with senior stakeholders across the University and externally.
