Job description
We are looking to appoint an Associate Professor in Strategy to contribute to the leadership of learning and teaching and research activities, become a key member of the Management leadership team and engage with stakeholder groups both external and internal to the University.
The successful candidate will work with the Head of Management Group to shape
the future of the Strategy subject area within the Business School.
In particular, we would welcome candidates who demonstrate an awareness of the role of emerging digital technologies on the nature of strategy and the achievement of competitive advantage and organisational value

The Role
As an Associate Professor, you will be contributing to learning and teaching and research activities in the Strategy subject area. You will help influence its research focus, by designing and delivering projects that will contribute to the achievement of the Business School Plan. You will take a leading role in contributing to the ongoing development and growth of teaching, research, CPD and consulting activities and be well networked within the business community. To support our extensive and contemporary undergraduate Business Management programme and the ongoing success of our MBA suite of programmes, we are seeking an ambitious academic who is seeking to develop their career in the strategy area.
You will be expected to source and conduct significant collaborative, as well as individual research projects, which will contribute to the research profile of the Business School. You will produce and lead high quality research outputs.
Who We Are Looking For
You will have a Doctoral level qualification in the relevant discipline. You will also have teaching experience and a track record of research, publications and of income generation.
Your teaching experience should be in any of the following areas: Strategic Management, Corporate Strategy or International Business Strategy.
Some travel may be required as a number of our programmes/modules are delivered off campus and internationally. You may be expected to contribute to the development of distance learning and on-line learning materials in your area of specialism.
Yours will be a role of high visibility in the Management Subject Group and within the Business School. You will have a broad grasp of the key Strategy concepts and research streams, and of course a sound grasp of those in your specific area of expertise.
