With over 50 academics, 1100 students, professional accreditation from the British Computer Society and some of the most impressive computing lab facilities in a UK university, the School of Computing is highly regarded and one of the UK's largest computing
departments at the heart of Scotland's inspiring capital.
The School is organised around three main focus areas: Software Engineering, Computer Security and Networking, and Creative and Social Informatics. This post is situated within the Computer Security and Networking group, which has a strong portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The School is active in both teaching and researching within the domains of computer security, digital forensics and cybercrime, with strong links to the security industry and law enforcement. The School has a range of courses across this domain, including a GCHQ certified MSc.

The Role
This is a unique opportunity to join a prestigious and rapidly expanding centre for teaching and research into cyber security. You will be expected to bring your expertise in cyber security, network security or forensics to join the team and take part in lecturing and research.
It is essential that you have the enthusiasm and commitment required to contribute to the further development of the research within the school, and ideally within the areas of Cyber Security and Networking, building upon the success of The Cyber Academy.
You will be responsible for the delivery of blended, online and distance learning courses, as well as being involved with course design and development. We have a strong focus on student centred learning underpinned by academic scholarship.
You must be ambitious about making a wide contribution to the university. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team. Some course delivery occurs at locations across the UK and overseas, and so you may from time to time be expected to contribute to delivery of teaching at such locations.
Who We Are Looking For
Applicants must demonstrate:
A doctoral level qualification in the relevant discipline.
Evidence of a professional academic and research profile alongside a commitment to sustained continuous professional/academic development.
Sufficient breadth and depth of experience in specialism to develop high quality teaching/learning and research programmes and have experience of research led teaching and/or training.
Demonstrable evidence of a teaching specialisation.
Desirable attributes:
Demonstrable teaching knowledge and research active in the areas of Computer Forensics, Network Security, and/or Cyber Security.
Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education or equivalent.

Salary: Grade 6 - GBP 38,183 - GBP 46,924 per annum
