We are looking for two Student Counsellors to join our Student Wellbeing and Inclusion team at Napier University on a guaranteed hours fixed term basis (with the possibility of extension). We are looking to increase our pool of practitioners to work subject to service demands of the university therefore there must be flexibility to work daytime and early evenings (Monday to Friday).

The role
The Student Wellbeing and Inclusion team offer counselling and support to a student body consisting of approximately 19,500 students.
The Student Counsellor will provide professional, sensitive and student focussed one to one counselling to a wide range of students. The roles offer a significant and exciting opportunity to be part of a team who continue to develop and innovate a student focused service provision.
The Student Counsellor will offer short term goal orientated one to one counselling and service assessments whilst promoting self-help techniques and resources to increase students’ overall mental wellbeing and resilience.
The Student Counsellor will contribute to the Service supporting students via Silver Cloud, a web based online program (training will be provided).

Who we are looking for
Candidates will be degree qualified (or equivalent) with a recognised post-graduate diploma or qualifications in Counselling or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. You will be a registered member of BACP/BABCP or equivalent and/or evidence of working towards accreditation.
You will have experience (and preferably a qualification) in online therapeutic work, as you will be part of delivering our online short-term therapeutic support model which we are operating as a response to COVID19 lockdown measures (all our services have moved online and we are operating from within our own homes). Thus, you will need to have a set up within your home which is confidential and suitable for therapeutic support.
You will be able to work independently and carry an individual caseload and play a primary role in providing counselling to Edinburgh Napier Students contributing actively as a member of the team.
This is an integral role within the team and will be primarily based at the Sighthill campus (when back on site) although travel to our other campuses will be required.
