The School is organised around three subject areas: Software Engineering, Cyber Security and Networking, and Creative and Social Informatics. This post is within the Creative and Social Informatics group which has a strong portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including BSc and MSc programmes in Business Information Technology. In addition, the group also delivers the BSc IT Management for Business to Graduate Apprentices studying for a degree while already in employment.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing area within the School of Computing.
Information Systems is a multi-disciplinary area, and the successful candidate will bring expertise across one or more relevant areas including:
Systems Analysis and Design, Enterprise Systems (including industry-standard management and intelligence tools), Business Analysis, IT Service Management, Project Management (emphasising contemporary industry-standard approaches), Information Governance, Information Behaviour, Knowledge Management.
Applicants for a Lectureship will have a developing profile, and academic publications, clearly underpinning one or more of these teaching areas and show potential for research and commercial income generation.
The group's research provides critical perspectives on, as well as analysis of, ICT trajectories, socio-technical and organisational issues with particular focus on information seeking behaviour and use, democratic digital engagement, online communities, open data and open government, information policy and knowledge management. You will bring complementary expertise and interests. Our research is funded by a number of bodies including the UK research councils (AHRC, EPSRC and ESRC); government (for example, Skills Development Scotland); business; and professional bodies (for example, CILIP). We have a vibrant community of part-time and full-time doctoral research students.
Applicants must demonstrate enthusiasm for enhancing our teaching in the area of information systems, including working with students on placement or otherwise engaged with industry.Some of our course delivery occurs at locations across the UK and overseas, and so you may from time to time be expected to contribute to delivery of teaching at such locations.
