Build your academic career in Creative & Social Informatics with Edinburgh Napier University
With over 50 academics, 1100 students, professional accreditation from the British Computer Society and some of the most impressive computing lab facilities in a UK university, the School of Computing is highly regarded and one of the UK's largest computing
departments at the heart of Scotland's inspiring capital.
The School is organised around three main focus areas: Software Engineering, Computer Security and Networking, and Creative and Social Informatics. This post is situated within the Creative and Social Informatics group, which has a strong portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The Role
A unique opportunity has arisen for a motivated academic as we launch a new BSc IT Management for Business to be delivered to Graduate Level Apprentices. This extends our work-based focus, already evident in a vibrant placement programme and also our leadership of e-Placement Scotland, which works with the technology sector to provide paid, quality placements for computing students across all of Scotland's universities and colleges.
This is an opportunity to join a high-potential area for teaching and research. The BSc IT Management for Business pioneers a new model of delivering degree level education, taking account of the workplace environment of the students, and partnering with employers to make sure that the programme meets their specific skills development needs.
For this role we are particularly interested in applicants who bring skills in information governance and security, systems analysis, information systems project management, or enterprise systems (including SAP).
The group's research provides critical perspectives on ICT trajectories, socio-technical and organisational issues with particular focus on information seeking behaviour and use, democratic digital engagement, online communities, open data and open government, information policy and knowledge management. We have funding from a number of bodies including the UK research councils (AHRC, EPSRC and ESRC); government (for example, Skills Development Scotland); business; and professional bodies (for example, CILIP).
You must be ambitious about making a wide contribution to the university. This may include some travel. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team.
Who We Are Looking For
Applicants must demonstrate:
A doctoral level qualification (or about to complete) in a relevant discipline.
Evidence of a professional academic and research profile alongside a commitment to sustained continuous professional/academic development.
Sufficient breadth and depth of experience in specialism to develop high quality teaching/learning and research programmes and have experience of research led teaching and/or training.
Demonstrable evidence of a teaching specialisation.
Demonstrate achievement appropriate to the post being applied for, including national standing, research track record of high quality outputs, external income generation, and academic leadership.
Benefits We Offer
Salary: Grade 6 - GBP 38,183-GBP 46,924 per annum
